This is a twenty-minute exercise, not a moral judgment. Print the sheet, pull up the last two card statements, and write down every recurring charge — including the ones you were sure you cancelled.

Then multiply each monthly cost by twelve and choose, for each line: keep, cut, or pause for ninety days. Most of the list you will keep. The point of the exercise is knowing which is which.
